Machining 4000 Nylon Brushes

Customer: A large Cumbrian fabrication company that focuses on the manufacturing of quality welded fabrications, tanks and vessels for the nuclear reprocessing and petrochemical industries.
 
What was required: High quality Sub Contract machine shop that could machine high quality products in large batch sizes, with added experience working in nylon. Adelaide used its two CNC Bar Feed Colchester Lathes, which will feed bar up to 62mm in Diameter, in order to machine the 4000 nylon smear brushes that were required. One Colchester is equipped with a C Axis function which enables Adelaide to turn, drill and tap mill flats, squares, hexagons and keyways in one hit machining, thus reducing set up times and handling costs.
